Arena Replay: watch your MTG Arena games again, one action at a time
Arena Replay rebuilds your games from the log file MTG Arena writes on your computer: every land, spell, attack, block and life change, with card pictures, your hand at each step, and both graveyards. The file is read inside your browser and is never uploaded.
or drag the log file anywhere onto this page. Steps 1 and 3 below explain where to find it.
Turn on Detailed Logs in Arena (one time)
In Arena, open Options (the gear icon at the top right), choose Account, and tick Detailed Logs (Plugin Support). Then close Arena and start it again. Games played before this is on can't be replayed.
Play your games
There is nothing to install. Arena records everything the replay needs while you play.
Open your log here
Windows: click Open your Arena log…, click the address bar at the top of the window that opens, paste this path and press Enter: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Wizards Of The Coast\MTGA
Mac: click Open your Arena log…, press Cmd + Shift + G, paste this path and press Enter: ~/Library/Logs/Wizards Of The Coast/MTGA
Choose Player.log for your most recent session, or Player-prev.log for the one before it. It's fine to open the log while Arena is still running.
Come back after each session
Arena keeps only your last two sessions: every time it starts, the oldest log is replaced. Each log you open here is saved to your library in this browser, so open the page after you play, at least every other time you start Arena, and your games will stay available. Next time you visit, your latest game opens straight away.
Watching a replay
Action › and ‹ Action, or the ←→ keys, step one action. Turn », or Shift + arrow, jumps a turn.
Click any line in the action list on the right to jump to it.
Hover over a card to see it full size.
You are at the bottom with your hand showing. Your opponent's hand appears as card backs with a count.
A gold outline marks the cards in the current action, a red ring means attacking, a blue ring means blocking, and a sideways card is tapped.
Each battlefield has a column for graveyard, exile and warped cards. A card exiled by a permanent sits tucked under that permanent.
Badges show counters (such as +2/+2 or Stun), loyalty, Class levels, Saga chapters and named cards or creature types.
Finding games
The match list holds every game in your library, newest first, with your rank and the result.
Rank shows only matches played at that rank. This is your ladder rank going into the match; Arena doesn't log your opponent's.
Game 1 / 2 / 3 switch between the games of a best-of-three.
Save replay to share downloads one match as a file a friend can open by double-clicking. It shows your hand but none of your Arena account details.
Your library
Your library is saved only in this browser on this device. It isn't sent anywhere and doesn't sync between computers.
Clearing this site's data, or using a private window, erases it.
Library → Export saves a backup file. Import restores it, or moves your games to another browser or computer.
If something looks wrong
"No matches with game data": Detailed Logs was off when you played, or the file isn't an Arena Player log.
A game is missing: Arena had already replaced that log. Open your logs more often to keep every session.
A card has no picture: it's newer than Scryfall's Arena data. Try again in a few days.
Pictures are slow the first time: they're fetched from Scryfall once, then remembered.
Steam version of Arena: if the folder above has no Player.log, look in steamapps\common\MTGA\MTGA_Data\Logs inside your Steam folder.
Privacy: your log stays on your computer. The page only contacts Scryfall, to get card names and pictures. A log also contains your Arena account ID, so share replay files rather than the log itself.
